🎁 The rain didn`t dampen the spirits of the Ladies who rounded out the year with a fabulous celebration on Sunday!

πŸŽ„As well as the traditional lucky dip, prizes were awarded as follows to this season`s stand out golfers!

πŸŽ…Dermot Carroll, our golf Pro, presented the winners of the Pro`s Compeition:
Winner: Eilish Kilbride
2nd: Patricia Magee
Gross: Catherine Vaughan

πŸ‘ At the top of the Leaderboard in First Place were Patricia Magee, Joan Doran, Frances Hatton, and Mairead Phelan.

✨️ In second place were Samantha Hughes, Amanda Furlong, Kathleen Byrne, and Maeve Kenny.

πŸ’ Prizes were also given out for the winners of The Legends 2-Person Team event, kindly sponsored by Bernie Morrow.

All-Ireland Bronze Medal Final - Congratulations Jennifer Kiersey!

On Wednesday, Jennifer Kiersey represented Coollattin Golf Club in the final of the Golf Ireland All-Ireland Bronze Medal.

Although the rain held off, the course played long but Jennifer was up for the challenge. She drove exceptionally well, positioned her second and approach shots brilliantly and putted like a dream.

In typical Jennifer fashion, laughs were had along the way and smiles were a plenty, with Catherine Vaughan as her super caddy.

Jennifer ended the day with a wonderful nett score of 75, just +2 over par for the day. To put that in context, in a field of 72 players, Jennifer’s score was in the group of just 3 players recording the 7th lowest score on the day, the winner carding an exceptional 6 under par, 67. Congratulations to Sinead Collins of Gort Golf Club.

On behalf of everyone, congratulations Jennifer, the club is extremely proud of you!

The Junior section of the club has gone from strength to strength this year, with 97 young golfers in the club.

In the club house tonight (Sunday), a lovely celebration marked the conclusion of a Junior Coaching programme delivered by the club Pro, Dermot Carroll.

Over eight sessions, junior golfers were coached on golf skills and etiquette on the course.

The Juniors also made history this year, with the club`s first-ever entry into the Golf Sixes League run by Golf Ireland. They played interclub matches in Coollattin, Carlow and Baltinglass. It is the first time that these juniors played at interclub level.

Each of the Juniors present received a Certificate of Completion to mark their participation in the coaching programme, with the Golf Sixes League players and competition winners receiving their prizes.

A big shout out to Junior Convenor Larry Byrne and Lady Captain Linda Dunne, who instigated the campaign to upskill the Juniors; to the 20 volunteers who gave of their time over the programme; and to Captain Billy Stamp, Lady Vice Captain Mary Doran, and Junior Vice Captain Danny Fahy Nolan who were in attendance at the celebration.

Onwards and upwards!
