The back 9 at Coollattin begins with this picturesque but tricky par 3. Your first challenge here is judging the wind. The tee on the 10th is nestled amongst some of Coollattins tallest oaks meaning the golfer will be protected from the elements.
The green is angled away from the tee – the left of the green being closer to the tee than the right. So you’ll need more club to carry to the right hand side of the green than the left. The green is also on split levels – from left to right. A sneaky bunker, not visible from the tee, is also well hidden on the right hand side of the green.
There is Coollattin’s very own version of ‘The Valley Of Sin’ short of the putting surface here which will swallow up any shy approaches. That said, coming up shy is more than likely a better option than going long here as that will leave a very difficult chip back to the green.
A very clever little hole that requires different strategy based on wind direction and pin location.
