GOLF IRELAND

UPDATED PROTOCOLS JUNE 7th

Golf Ireland would firstly like to applaud golf clubs for their work and adherence to the Return to Golf Protocol since courses reopened on 26th April.
We have been delighted to see our sport make a successful return over the past number of weeks. Golf Ireland’s priority continues to be the safe resumption of all golfing activities at the earliest possible opportunity.

We have agreed with Sport Ireland that the following additional activities can resume from Monday, 7th June.

From 7th June onwards

• All forms of competitive golf may be undertaken, including so called ‘Major’ competitions, internal club match play and club open competitions.

 • A maximum of 100 spectators (not including players or officials) may attend organised outdoor events, and this will apply to organised inter-club matches.

 • To facilitate a greater number of players, clubs can if they wish implement 8-minute starting intervals on their timesheets for groups of up to four golfers.
However, clubs are strongly advised to consider the guidance in The R&A Pace of Play manual on recommending 10-minute intervals for four balls.

COOLLATTIN HOUSE CLEAN-UP

Tuesday 16th June 2020

This involved some very dirty work and removing a considerable amount of unwanted material from the house.
On behalf of the management and every member of the club we say thank you for you time and effort in doing this work.

We also ask members who would volunteer to do some lighter cleaning to come along at 6.30 on Tuesday 23rd June. We need to mop floors and clean surfaces.

CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

Maurice Hedderman & Sinead Byrne

Captains Maurice & Sinead displayed true Coollattin club spirit when despite the worst of weather the drive in went ahead as scheduled on Sunday March 3rd.

The 9 hole scramble proved to be a test of stamina and will power with some teams failing to complete the 9 holes!

That said, the day proved a great success with members, friends and family coming out in large numbers to wish the captains well.

The captains arrived in style, courtesy of Billy the Bull, kindly driven by Moira Hart from The Wexford Lavender Farm.

They were greeted on arrival at the big house by Presidents Kevin & Caroline and the sponsor of the drive in Jim Byrne.

After three good tee shots from Maurice, Sinead & Daniel (Junior Boys Capt.) it was back to the clubhouse for refreshments and music.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the day a success despite the conditions!

Maurice & Sinead really appreciated the turn out, good wishes and support and wish the members a healthy, happy and successful 2019!
